Grateful Growth Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in providing high-quality mental health support. As a full-time counselor working remotely, you will be instrumental in improving the mental well-being of our diverse client base. This role offers an annual salary range of $80,000 to $100,000, complemented by a sign-on bonus.

This position is fully remote, allowing for a flexible work schedule while ensuring that counselors stay connected to colleagues and clients. The outpatient focus of our counseling center ensures that you will primarily engage with clients in individual and group settings using video conferencing platforms and electronic health record systems like AVATAR. We foster a collaborative online environment where teamwork and communication are prioritized to facilitate the best care for our clients.

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews, carefully documenting each case from the first consultation through to the conclusion of treatment to ensure accurate records and continuity of care.
• Assess clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health to design personalized treatment plans tailored to their specific needs.
• Implement and facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing a variety of therapeutic techniques to foster a safe and supportive environment for clients.
• Monitor and document client progress against treatment goals, adjusting intervention strategies as necessary to promote successful outcomes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses, to develop comprehensive intervention plans that address all aspects of a client’s health.
• Proactively follow up with clients' psychiatrists and hospital clinicians to ensure cohesive treatment approaches for clients admitted for inpatient care.
• Utilize therapeutic skills to identify risk factors and prevent behaviors that may hinder recovery, focusing on safety and well-being.
• Provide valuable support and resources to family members and caregivers, assisting them in understanding and managing mental health challenges.

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Possession of a current and valid license as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in California.
• A successful score in the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Demonstrable experience working in a mental health counseling role, with strong foundational skills in therapeutic practices.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly AVATAR, to maintain accurate client records and treatment documentation.
• Understanding of various mental health diagnoses, underlying physical health conditions, and addiction disorders.
• Familiarity with best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) and knowledge of psychoactive medications prescribed by medical professionals.

• Background in working with diverse populations, understanding the nuances of cultural competence in mental health care.
• Strong experience in developing and implementing effective treatment plans based on client assessments.
