Position Overview

We are seeking a Cost Optimization Lead to play a critical role in driving cost reduction initiatives across product groups within Resource Industries, fully on-site in Irving, TX (5 days per week). This position focuses on identifying and executing savings opportunities using strategic tools such as should-cost analysis, order quantity optimization, similar part analysis, and multi-source arbitrage. You will collaborate frequently with product and category groups, working within a team of five and partnering with a senior lead as needed based on project complexity.

Key Contributions & Responsibilities
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities across product groups; optimize order quantities and evaluate sourcing strategies including multi-source arbitrage.
  • Build and maintain dashboards to monitor project and program health; identify trends in data and translate findings into actionable insights.
  • Prepare clear, concise executive-ready reports and presentations using Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI - highlighting risks, savings opportunities, and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product and category groups to implement cost-saving initiatives and drive process improvements.
  • Manage projects and deliverables; track progress and communicate status clearly to stakeholders.
Team Structure & Work Environment
  • You will work within a team of five, with frequent collaboration across product and category groups. Depending on project scope and complexity, you may partner with a senior lead on the team.
  • This is a fully on-site role, 5 days per week, in Irving, TX.

Requirements

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related technical field with 8+ years of relevant experience; Master's degree with 5+ years; or Associate's degree with 10+ years. A technical degree of some capacity is required.
  • Internship experience may be counted toward the required years of experience. Comparable backgrounds include roles in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical engineering.
Top 3 Skills
  • Advanced data analytics proficiency - Excel (VLOOKUPs, XLOOKUPs, pivot tables, charts, graphs, Power Query), PowerPoint, and Power BI including dashboard creation.
  • Ability to read part numbers and technical drawings/prints - a common and critical requirement for this role.
  • Ability to clearly communicate data-driven findings and recommendations to diverse audiences, including executive-level stakeholders.
Required Technical Skills
  • Experience with cost reduction strategies, should-cost analysis, and related methodologies.
  • Experience driving process improvement initiatives across cross-functional teams.
Required Soft Skills
  • Collaborative and data-driven mindset - comfortable working across product and category groups to drive shared outcomes.
  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to identify trends, synthesize complex data, and draw clear, actionable conclusions.
