CWA Library Associate (multiple openings)

Position Summary

Campbell Library seeks to hire Library Associates, each serving as a functional lead within the Public Services department while sharing responsibility for providing exceptional patron-centered services. Reporting to the Associate Director, Public Services, each associate leads a designated Public Services specialty area, develops workflows and documentation, leads assigned staff, and collaborates with library colleagues and university partners to ensure seamless service delivery.

All associates contribute to the operation of the library's in-person and virtual service points, lending and borrowing services, outreach and programming, exhibits, and other Public Services initiatives. Each position also serves as the primary subject matter expert for one of the following specialty areas:

  1. Course Reserves & Campbell Neighborhood Coordination
  2. Public Services Operations & Supplies Coordination
  3. Virtual Service Point & Exhibits Coordination

Responsibilities

  • Lead a designated Public Services functional area.
  • Develop, document, implement, and assess workflows and best practices.
  • Use data and assessment to improve services and recommend operational enhancements.
  • Mentor, train, and lead assigned staff and student employees.
  • Participate in staffing the Welcome Desk and Virtual Service Point.
  • Contribute to Lending/Borrowing services.
  • Participate in exhibits, outreach, and programming.
  • Collaborate with Campbell Library departments, Rowan University partners, and community stakeholders.
  • Assist with library-wide initiatives, including faculty publication projects, archival digitization, instructional media, and other special projects.
  • Represent Campbell Library and Rowan University at professional meetings, conferences, workshops, and committees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • At least four years of progressively responsible experience in academic library public services.
  • Experience leading or coordinating public service workflows.
  • Experience leading professional and/or student staff.
  • Experience planning, implementing, and assessing library services or programs.
  • Experience with integrated library systems and library applications (Alma preferred; ServiceNow, ILLiad, ReShare, Rialto, or similar).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Strong organizational, project management, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic service environment.
  • Ability to interpret and implement policies, procedures, and service standards.

Preferred Qualifications

Course Reserves & Campbell Neighborhood Coordination:

  • Experience with course reserve systems (e.g., Leganto).
  • Experience supporting learning management systems such as Canvas.
  • Knowledge of copyright and course reserves practices.
  • Experience managing patron accounts or billing workflows.

Public Services Operations & Supplies Coordination:

  • Experience managing academic library service desks.
  • Experience coordinating staff schedules and service coverage.
  • Experience overseeing equipment lending, study room reservations, or similar access services.
  • Experience managing purchasing or budget-related workflows.

Virtual Service Point & Exhibits Coordination:

  • Experience managing virtual library service points or knowledge base systems.
  • Experience using ServiceNow or comparable ticketing platforms.
  • Experience designing physical exhibits and promotional materials.
  • Proficiency with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar graphic design software.
  • Knowledge of readers' advisory practices and collection promotion.
  • Experience developing outreach, exhibits, workshops, or public programming.

  • This position may require evening, late-night hours, and/or weekend hours
  • This position's working days may change throughout the academic calendar
  • This position may require participation in campus events and outreach activities outside typical working hours

Salary & Benefits

  • In compliance with The State of New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is CWA: Range 15. For internal applicants, salary is determined per the Pay Adjustment formula (NJAC 4A:3-4.9 & 4.10). 
  • For eligible employees, benefits include: comprehensive NJ State health, dental and retirement benefits, extensive accrued time off/paid holidays, and tuition reimbursement for employee, spouse, and dependents to attend Rowan University, Glassboro. (Tuition reimbursement will apply to undergraduate degrees only for spouse and dependents).
