  • Requires working knowledge and skills to perform a defined set of analytical scientific or operational processes
  • Applies experience and skills to complete assigned work within own area of expertise

Essential Functions
  • Sets up and operates production equipment to manufacture, process, and assemble various commercial products and substances.
  • Uses product specifications, blueprints, diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOP) to produce products.
  • Monitors output for quality and conformance to required metrics.
  • Prepares and maintains required records of production activities and reports any inconsistencies or equipment issues.
  • Follows established guidelines for safe material handling and protective gear.
  • Studies and records time, motion, methods, and speed to improve efficiency.
  • Establishes a standard production rate in performance of maintenance, production, clerical, and other worker operations.
  • Troubleshoots issues related to manufacturing operations and industrial layout.
    • Required Qualifications
      • Required education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 2-5 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
      Preferred Qualifications
      • Preferred education and experience: Associate's Degree
      • Discipline/Major: Technical training preferred
      • Knowledge, skills & abilities: Technical expertise. Ability to identify and seek needed information. Research skills. Problem-solving skills. Machine Operation. Machine Programming, Manufacturing. Numerical Control. Precision Measurement. Quality Inspection. Reading Blueprints/Diagrams. Safety Policies and Procedures. Record Keeping. Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
      Physical Requirements
      • Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
      • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
      • May need to stand for long periods of time.
      • Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
      • May be requested to work a different shift.
      • Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.
      • This position is Safety-Sensitive.
