Location: Primary Facility - Houston, TX
Hiring Immediately

Economy Transportation and Logistics is hiring an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to service and maintain our fleet of Class A commercial diesel vehicles, trailers, and equipment. This role is critical to keeping our operations safe, compliant, and running efficiently. We operate a diverse fleet including tankers, ISO containers, flatbeds, and dry vans.

Work Environment
  • Primary Facility: Houston, TX

  • Fleet supports regional operations: Occassional travel to neighboring regions required

  • We follow the work wherever it goes.

Equipment Serviced
  • Class A diesel tractors (sleeper trucks)

  • Tanker, ISO container, flatbed, and dry van trailers

  • Offload Pumps and ancillary equipment
  • 10, 13, and 18-speed manual transmission equipment

  • DOT-regulated commercial vehicles

Schedule & Employment Type
  • Full-time, W2 position

  • Weekly pay via direct deposit

  • On-site shop with field support as needed

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on Class A diesel trucks and trailers

  • Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, electrical systems, and air systems

  • Ensure equipment meets DOT and safety compliance standards

  • Complete accurate maintenance records and inspections

  • Perform roadside or field repairs as needed

  • Work closely with operations and dispatch to minimize downtime

Minimum Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic working on Class A commercial vehicles

  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines and trailer systems

  • Experience with 10, 13, and 18-speed manual transmissions

  • Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues

  • Familiarity with DOT inspection and compliance standards

  • Valid driver's license

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications
  • CDL Class A

  • Experience with oilfield equipment

  • Tanker and ISO container trailer experience

  • Welding or fabrication experience
