POSITION TITLE:         Senior Designer - Aerie and Offline Concept
REPORTS TO:               Design Director

POSITION SUMMARY:
Conduct market research and coordinate with the Design Team to seasonally analyze and strategize key trends and concepts to further evolve the Aerie and OFFLINE brands.

Get to Know the Role:

What You'll Do:

  • Create inspiring and emotional seasonal concepts for the Aerie brand and the activewear brand OFFLINE to inspire cross functional teams and set the vibe for the season
  • Compile seasonal conceptual design books for design, merchandising and marketing teams; covering print, color, outfitting, key items and innovations to move product on
  • Research and help to create on trend seasonal color palettes, manage the color process from start to finish
  • Research newest and most exciting trends in styling that can be applied to the Aerie assortment
  • Conduct photo research at target customer venues (malls, campuses, concert events) and present all findings to design and merchant teams
  • Travel and shop the market identifying new trends for Aerie and OFFLINE
  • Research and compile runway, trade show, and trend reports
  • Research and identify key social media influencers in order to recognize consumer trends and support the brand vision
  • Support and participate in seasonal conceptual design books for design, merchandising and marketing teams
  • Attend milestone meetings, line reviews, pre-season floorsets and financial overviews, providing perspective and insight to creative leadership on product assortments
  • Work closely with designers on translating concept
  • Develop strong cross-functional partnerships throughout the organization
  • Perform other duties as required
  • In person/in-office collaboration is required, the frequency of such in-person/in-office collaboration (e.g., portion of week, entire week) is dictated by business needs.  Such collaboration includes work centralized around product development, milestone meetings, fittings, and approvals

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Fashion or Art (or equivalent experience and education)
  • Experience working in Concept Design / Trend; Active experience is a plus
  • Passion for styling, outfitting and accessorizing
  • 8+ years related experience including experience managing a direct report
  • Keen eye for color, trend, detail and construction
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Suite (Illustrator/Photoshop/Indesign) and Excel. PLM experience is a plus
  • Ability to act as liaison between many departments, excellent communication, and multi-task and prioritize
  • Must be detail oriented, computer literate and able to handle multiple tasks at once
