$20 Per Hour for Nude Modeling
$10 Per Hour for Clothed Modeling
Preferred Student Classification Nature & Purpose of Position
To act as a model for Life Drawing classes within the context of an educational environment. The model will be required to sustain poses both standing and seated for prolonged periods of time. The model will be required to take direction from the professor leading the class and may also be asked to select their own pose. The drawing classes cover the study of the anatomy of the figure and the model should be comfortable with poses both clothed and unclothed. The professor will refer to the body as part of the class and discuss student work in relation to the figure. The model will be working in a practical studio environment with a range of equipment and materials present in the room. The role will require the model to act with care and awareness to their surroundings.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To sustain seated and standing poses for prolonged periods of time.
To have excellent time keeping skills and to arrive in time for sessions.
To provide prior notice if unable to attend a session to the course professor
To be able to confidently select their own seated or standing poses when asked to do so.
To be comfortable with posing both fully clothed and fully unclothed.
To immediately stop and inform the tutor if a pose becomes uncomfortable in any way.
To alert the professor to any potential difficulties or health issues that might affect their ability to undertake their role as model.
To take responsibility for having a suitable cover/dressing gown to wear between poses and when moving in the art room.
To alert the professor if the room temperature is unsuitable for modelling or for any other environmental issues that may affect their ability to model.
To be able to work in silence for prolonged periods of time.
To communicate in a professional way with student and staff and to maintain high standards of conduct and behavior.
To report any unacceptable behavior to the professor.
To take responsibility for completing a timesheet of hours (as provided by SHSU and for ensuring all dates and hours claimed for are correct.
