DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
The Basics:
  • High School Diploma/General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
  • Ability to read and understand electrical drawings, and to understand electrical/electronic components/inverters
  • Basics of digital technology, programmable logic controllers (PLC)
  • Ability to work with electrical measurement
  • Knowledge of AC motors, drives, sensors and actors
  • Knowledge of switchgears
  • Computer skills to include knowledge of network technology, Microsoft Office, and SAP
  • Ability to read and understand hydraulic and mechanical drawings as well as P&ID's
  • Experience/knowledge of coil transport systems, inspection lines, furnaces, power distribution systems, motors, variable frequency drives, automation systems, measurement systems, instrumentation equipment, and hydraulic systems.

The Extras:
  • Internship or Associates Degree
  • 3 years' electrical maintenance experience
  • Experience in the steel industry

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
  • Responsible for the overall electrical, and in some cases also mechanical, maintenance of Cold Roll Mill in performing required scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and trouble-shooting
  • Supports the coordinator, leads, senior maintenance technicians, and process coordinators in fulfilling their tasks
  • Analysis, trouble shooting, solving and reporting of problems and failures
  • Support development of improvement programs
  • Ensure proper safety, environmental, quality and housekeeping responsibilities are maintained
  • Supports the mechanical colleagues in failure investigation
  • Takeover and fulfilling of maintenance work orders on a scheduled and unscheduled basis
  • Orders spare parts from the spare part warehouse
  • Ensures proper turnover with on-coming and off-going crew during shift change
  • Cooperating with other maintenance departments

YOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Industrial setting in the Cold Roll Mill
  • Gulf coast region in Calvert, AL
  • Must be willing to work either a Day Shift Monday - Friday or Rotating 12 hour shifts to include days, nights, weekends, and holiday
