Job description

Straub Collaborative is seeking an experienced Digital Retoucher IIIto support high-volume production retouching workflows for a major client program.

This role focuses on consistent, high-quality product image retouching within a production environment, where efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to established style standards are critical. The ideal candidate has experience working in e-commerce or studio production environments where large image sets must be processed accurately and on deadline.

This is not an editorial or beauty retouching role - success in this position requires strong production workflow discipline and repeatable retouching techniques.

What You'll DoProduction Image Retouching
  • Perform advanced production retouching on high volumes of product imagery using Adobe Photoshop.
  • Create silhouettes, clipping paths, and masks to isolate products from background elements.
  • Apply consistent shaping and cleanup to maintain uniform visual presentation across large image sets.
  • Execute color correction to both aesthetic and client-specified color standards, including critical color matching.
  • Utilize and create Photoshop actions and workflow efficiencies to support scalable production workflows.
File Preparation & Asset Management
  • Prepare production-ready deliverable files according to established client specifications.
  • Manage color profiles, file formats, and naming conventions used in high-volume production pipelines.
  • Upload and organize completed assets within structured file server environments.
Quality Control & Workflow Collaboration
  • Conduct quality control checks prior to final delivery.
  • Maintain organized digital workflows and consistent file structures.
  • Collaborate with photographers, stylists, and post-production teams to meet daily production deadlines.
What We're Looking ForRequired Experience
  • 3+ years professional production retouching experience
  • Demonstrated experience working in high-volume studio, e-commerce, or commercial production environments
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, including:
    • clipping paths
    • masking
    • retouching
    • color correction
    • blending modes
  • Experience processing large image sets while maintaining consistent quality standards
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple production assignments simultaneously
Preferred
  • Experience supporting large retail or brand production programs
  • Familiarity with Adobe Bridge, Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat
  • Experience working with server-based asset systems or digital asset management tools
  • Two-year degree or equivalent experience in photography, design, or a related field
Portfolio Requirement

Applicants must include a portfolio demonstrating production-style retouching, such as:

  • Product isolation / clipping paths
  • Color correction across image sets
  • E-commerce product imagery
  • Before/after retouching examples

Candidates with primarily editorial, beauty, or artistic retouching portfolios may not be a fit for this production-focused role.

Work Environment

This role is primarily workstation-based and involves extended periods of digital retouching using Adobe Creative Suite and pen tablet input devices. The studio environment may include production deadlines, shifting priorities, and lighting conditions optimized for color-critical retouching work.

Production schedules are typically consistent; however, periodic spikes in workload may occur during peak production cycles or client demand periods, requiring flexibility and the ability to maintain quality and efficiency during higher-volume production periods.
