Job description

The Job The Department of Public Health, Clinical Operations is seeking Clinical Support Staff - Temporary* to assist with the referral process for patients to specialty medical services. The Clinical Support Staff will perform a variety of routine clerical and administrative tasks, including answering telephone calls, taking and relaying messages, and providing information, instructions, and assistance regarding patient referrals. Additional duties include conducting patient outreach to ensure attendance at specialist appointments, communicating with service providers to request updates on outstanding referrals, and collecting, entering, processing, sorting, and tabulating referral information.

Experience with electronic medical record systems such as RadNet, E-Consult, and the IEHP Provider Portal, as well as knowledge of medical terminology, are highly desirable. *Official Title: General Services Worker II This position is extra-help, and incumbent does not attain status as regular County employee. Although this position is of limited duration and temporary in nature, assignments may be up to twelve (12) months.

Vacancies exist in Victorville. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Pre-Employment Process: Prior to appointment, applicants must pass a background investigation which includes verification of employment history and education, fingerprinting, physical exam, and drug screening. Employment Status: This position is extra-help, and incumbent does not attain status as regular County employee.

Although this position is of limited duration and temporary in nature, assignments may be up to twelve (12) months. This position will participate in the County's Deferred Compensation Plan and does not earn any other benefits. Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require Visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future.

Candidates must be able to present their legal right to work in the United States at the time of employment. Minimum Requirements Must possess the following: Experience: Six (6) months of full-time clerical experience in a medical front or back office. Experience may be in a primary or specialty clinic.

Desired Qualifications Experience with electronic medical record systems and English/Spanish bilingual skills are highly desired.
