Job description

Reports To: Childrenโ€™s & Youth Ministry Director

Rate: $21.30 an hour

Schedule: M-F 8 am-4:30pm, 7/27/26-8/28/26

Looking for a responsible camp counselor (Lead counselor and support staff) to supervise and guide activities. Usually, the Day Camp Counselor would be responsible for no more than 6 kids at a time from 6-13 year old. Most of the time, the counselor will have the aid of an assistant counselor and/or Childrenโ€™s & Youth Ministry Director.

The Counselor would provide a safe, positive, and supportive environment for campers to have fun social experiences. The job requires leading activities such as arts and crafts and encouraging children to come up with ideas that support their interests.

Duties and Responsibilities (including, but not limited to)

To provide a safe, positive, and supportive environment for campers

Instruction and facilitation (or assist with) of indoor and outdoor activities on campus

Oversee the health and safety of campers

Utilize approved safety practices

Provide appropriate First Aid and submit written reports to Health Supervisor

Create and supervise an emotionally healthy environment for campers as a camp counselor

Complete designated paperwork, reports, etc. as a camp counselor

Organize classroom setting

Preparation after and after kids arrive.

Qualifications:

18 years or older

Child Care/Camp Counseling/ Teaching experience

Ability to pass a background check

First Aid/CPR certification

Able to develop positive rapport with campers

Excellent communication skills

Reliability

Working conditions: Counselor will primarily work within a classroom and outdoor settings on Campus located at the Seattle Temple Corps. Covid guidelines will be required to be followed.
