The Intake Center Program Associate will facilitate the transport of individuals and families to shelter. Conduct initial

diversion/intake screening prior to contacting 211 to verify homelessness eligibility of individuals and families. Support the quarantine placement of COVID individuals and families in DSS-contracted hotel. They will respond to all incoming calls from clients and/or providers, while completing a diversion screening with walk-in clients prior to calling 211 to confirm homelessness

eligibility. They will pick up clients and transport them to the appropriate shelter as determined by 211/DSS. Support quarantine of COVID clients through proper documentation prior to their hotel

placement, transportation to quarantine, and providing food, hygiene items, hotel rules. Work with designated hotel agencies/shelters to provide a warm client hand off. Maintain and update transportation logs and documentation via shift notes. Communicate with other shift Program Associates/Caseworkers/admin as needed. Ensure there is adequate staffing prior to leaving a shift. Observes all safety rules and regulations including use of personal protective equipment. Maintain guidelines established by the funding sources and Catholic Charities of Onondaga County policies and procedures.

This is a Full Time Position at 35 Hours a Week. Pay is $18.00 Per Hour.


Education and/or Experience Required at Entry:

  • H.S. Diploma or G.E.D. with up to three (3) years relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Experience working with homeless population preferred.

Working Conditions and Environment/Physical Demands:

  • Mobility sufficient to drive to and participate in meetings at client’s homes and/or community facilities which may not meet Federal accessibility standards for disabled individuals.
  • Mobility sufficient to work in an office environment. Manual dexterity sufficient to operate office equipment including machines.

Licenses/Certificate/Clearances:

  • Valid N.Y.S. Driver’s License,
  • N.Y.S. Central Registry clearance.
