Catalyst Church is seeking a talented Student Pastor for a full-time position. This role will report to Executive Pastor of Ministries in the Directional Leadership Team department and is an on-site role based in Jacksonville, NC. The effective date for this position is immediate.

Job Description

The Student Pastor provides vision, leadership, and spiritual guidance for the Student Ministry (grades 6-12), creating a welcoming and engaging environment where students can grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. This role leads the development and execution of ministry initiatives through biblical teaching, discipleship, pastoral care, outreach and meaningful relationship with students, families and volunteers. The Student Pastor equips and inspires students to live out the mission of the church and actively follow Christ both inside and outside the church community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver biblically sound, engaging, and relevant weekly messages for students in grades 6-12.
  • Offer pastoral leadership, care, counseling, and discipleship to students.
  • Lead and mentor the student ministry team, setting clear objectives, managing performance, and providing ongoing training.
  • Oversee all aspects of student ministry programs, from planning to execution, ensuring alignment with the church's mission and values.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and volunteers, addressing concerns and fostering a supportive community.
  • Prepare, analyze, and report on key ministry metrics, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain systems, procedures, and policies to ensure the effective operation of student ministry activities.
  • Assist with church-wide events and initiatives, ensuring student ministry integration and participation i.e camp, outreach projects, and more
  • Address and resolve escalated issues or conflicts within the student ministry, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Build and maintain a visible and intentional presence in local schools, athletic events, extracurricular activities and the broader student community.
  • Bridge the transition for students from Student Ministry into other ministries.
  • Maintain Student Ministry budget and expenditures.

Qualifications

Compensation

Compensation for this role will be competitive and commensurate with experience. Final compensation details will be discussed during the interview process.
