Position Summary: The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, financial performance, guest satisfaction, and day-to-day operations of the Sheraton Mission Valley San Diego Hotel, a 260-room full-service hotel currently operating under the Sheraton brand and scheduled to transition to Hyatt Regency in December 2026. The role provides strategic direction to all hotel departments, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, strong associate engagement, brand compliance, and achievement of revenue and profitability goals. The General Manager will oversee hotel operations, sales and marketing initiatives, food and beverage operations, meeting and event business, and overall financial performance while fostering a culture of accountability, service excellence, and teamwork.

The ideal candidate is an experienced hospitality leader with a proven track record of driving hotel performance, developing high-performing teams, maximizing group and transient revenue, and delivering outstanding results in guest satisfaction, market share, and profitability. This individual will play a critical role in leading the hotel through a significant brand conversion to Hyatt Regency while maintaining operational excellence, strengthening market presence, and enhancing owner returns.

The General Manager is expected to meet all company standards and lead the 5 Key Drivers identified by the management company while ensuring operational excellence across the hotel's guestrooms, food and beverage outlets, and approximately 12,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous General Manager experience in a full-service hotel environment, preferably with significant rooms, food & beverage, and group business operations.
  • Hyatt Regency experience strongly preferred, with particular interest in candidates currently serving within Hyatt-managed full-service properties.
  • Experience operating in the San Diego market or similar highly competitive urban hospitality markets.
  • Proven success leading hotels with substantial group, catering, and meeting space revenue, preferably in properties with 10,000+ square feet of event space.
  • Candidates currently serving as a Hotel Manager, Assistant General Manager, or other senior operations leader at a Hyatt Regency property with demonstrated readiness to step into a General Manager role are highly encouraged to apply.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Practice a culture of guest service in all you do; promote courtesy, good will and a positive attitude in each and every encounter.
  • Anticipate guest needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, maintaining positive guest relations at all times.
  • Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction in each interaction.
  • Coordinate special programs, functions and incentives to improve guest service.
  • Work in a cooperative and friendly manner with fellow associates.
  • Effectively lead the Executive Committee to reach the goals of the property.
  • Develop and assure achievement of hotel revenues and profits, utilizing forecasting, P&L management, RevPAR.
  • Ensure the property is compliant in all departments, growing the business year over year.
  • Ensure product quality is of a level to allow future bookings of room nights, banquet sales and food & beverage to achieve increasing pricing goals as warranted to maximize revenue.
  • Coach and develop leaders to exceed performance expectations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management or related business field preferred
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in Rooms and/or Food & Beverage functions
  • Strong business communication skills verbal and written
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to lead team at leadership and hourly level
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws and regulations
  • High work ethic and self‑initiative
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Suite
