Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments with clients to evaluate their mental health status, focusing specifically on the severity, frequency, and duration of mood disorder symptoms.
  • Engage collaboratively with clients to develop individualized treatment plans that are reflective of their unique needs, aspirations, and circumstances.
  • Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), tailored to address mood disorders such as depression and anxiety.
  • Educate clients and their families on mood disorders, treatment options, and essential self-care techniques to empower them in their healing journey.
  • Monitor and document clients' progress meticulously, adjusting treatment strategies based on evidence and outcomes to best support their health and recovery.
  • Work closely with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated and comprehensive care that addresses both psychological and medical needs.
  • Stay current with the latest research and clinical guidelines in the realm of mental health, leveraging this knowledge to enhance treatment efficacy.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of client interactions in accordance with legal and ethical standards to ensure compliance and safeguard patient privacy.
  • Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and professional development opportunities to continuously enhance clinical skills and contribute to best practices in mental health treatment.
  • Advocate for clients, engaging in efforts to de-stigmatize mood disorders and promote mental health awareness at both individual and community levels.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal candidate will work with a diverse array of clients, focusing primarily on individuals experiencing mood disorders, including but not limited to depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety-related conditions. Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) within the state of Georgia is mandatory.
  • Two years of post-licensure experience specializing in mood disorders is preferred to ensure familiarity with the complexities of these conditions.
  • Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic modalities, particularly CBT and DBT, is essential.
  • A solid understanding of psychopharmacology and the capacity to liaise effectively with psychiatrists and other healthcare providers is necessary.
