The Role:

SonoThera is seeking a detail-oriented Biospecimen Operations Technician  to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing our sample inventory, processing sample requests, and ensuring accurate tracking and documentation using Benchling. This role is critical in supporting our research and development efforts through organized sample management. The Biospecimen Operations Technician will report to the VP / Head of Operations and will need to be on-site Monday-Friday.

What You Will Do:

  • Manage and maintain the sample inventory, including receipt, labeling, and storage of samples in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Utilize Benchling to track and manage sample information, including creating, updating, and archiving sample records.
  • Process sample requests from researchers and ensure timely delivery and documentation of samples.
  • Collaborate with laboratory teams to maintain accurate records and resolve any discrepancies related to sample data.
  • Assist in the implementation of best practices for sample management to improve workflow efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards related to sample handling and storage.
  • Participate in data audits and contribute to maintaining the integrity of the sample management system.
  • Support additional projects and tasks as needed to further enhance sample management operations.

What You Will Bring:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of experience with sample management, laboratory operations, or inventory management preferred.
  • Proficiency in using Benchling or similar laboratory management systems preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively in a dynamic environment.

Technical Requirements & Skills:

  • Familiarity with Benchling/other inventory systems for sample tracking, data entry, and inventory management.

Data Entry and Management:

  • Strong skills in accurate data entry, maintenance, and management of sample records and databases.

Sample Tracking and Documentation:

  • Understanding of best practices for tracking samples, managing storage conditions, and maintaining documentation.

Lab Techniques and Protocols:

  • Basic knowledge of laboratory techniques relevant to sample handling and processing, such as pipetting, labeling, and storage requirements.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $30 to $45 USD hourly.
