ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER
The Assistant General Manager is responsible for assisting the General Manager in the overall operation of the gym and for selling gym memberships.
Essential Functions
  1. Promotes membership sales and assists with retention efforts of members.
  2. Ensures that each guest receives outstanding guest service by providing a guest-friendly environment, including greeting and acknowledging every guest and by maintaining outstanding standards, solid promotional knowledge and all other components of guest services.
  3. Recruits, trains, develops and communicates with all staff as well as assesses performance as needed under the direction of the General Manager.
  4. Maintains all merchandising standards, display presentations and signing standards and monitors inventory levels.
  5. Properly delegates, monitors and evaluates specifically assigned responsibilities of subordinate team members.
  6. Maintains adherence to all company policies and procedures.
  7. Manages employee issues and member issues in the absence of the General Manager.
  8. Performs any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a Full-Time, Exempt position. Evenings and weekends required.
Required Education, Experience and Certifications
  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Experience in a customer service and sales role.
  3. Current CPR Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment - company will provide this training if not already certified.

Preferred Education and Experience
  1. Fitness industry experience.
  2. Associates or Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
  3. Supervisory experience of customer service and sales roles.
