About the Position:
Steelial Construction & Metal Fabrication is seeking an experienced Draftsman with strong working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor and proven industry experience supporting food‑production or food‑grade facility projects. The ideal candidate can create accurate, detailed 2D and 3D models while collaborating with engineering, fabrication, and project management teams.
This role is vital to ensuring our structural steel, fabrication, and specialty equipment projects meet industry standards, client requirements, and food-safety design principles.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Produce detailed 3D models and 2D fabrication drawings using Autodesk Inventor.
  • Create assembly drawings, BOMs, part sheets, and cut lists.
  • Draft food‑industry equipment layouts, platforms, mezzanines, framing, and custom components.
  • Interpret and apply food‑safety design standards (cleanability, material selection, weld standards, etc.)
  • Review and modify drawings based on engineering or client feedback.
  • Coordinate fabrication requirements with shop personnel.
  • Maintain drawing accuracy throughout project lifecycle.
  • Prepare design documentation for project submittals.

Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ years experience as a Draftsman, CAD Designer, or similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in Autodesk Inventor (iLogic experience is a plus).
  • Background in the food industry, including design considerations for processing plants, conveyors, platforms, sanitation requirements, or stainless-steel fabrication.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, structural plans, and fabrication details.
  • Knowledge of steel fabrication processes and machining tolerances.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills (Not Required):
  • Experience with AutoCAD or additional Autodesk products.
  • Knowledge of structural steel standards, AWS weld symbols, and material properties.
  • Understanding of sanitary design principles (3‑A, USDA, or comparable standards).
  • Ability to perform field measurements and site verification.
  • Experience with mechanical or electrical components in processing equipment.

What We Offer:
  • Competitive pay based on experience.
  • Opportunities for career development and advancement.
  • Supportive team-oriented environment.
  • Projects across multiple fabrication and construction sectors.
  • Stable, year-round work.
  • Company paid benefits.
  • 401K with Company match.
