Job description

Objective:

This position is responsible for helping attendees at the campus-level grow in their walk with Jesus by engaging in community and developing a heart to serve everyone, everywhere. This is accomplished by assisting, maintaining and growing Community Groups, Women's Ministry, Men's Ministry, Marriage Ministry, Care Ministry, and Rooted at the campus level. The Community Life Pastor oversees the Community Life Director, who provides support for this position.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Equip and mentor a team of ministry leaders facilitating weekly groups, classes, and studies (Rooted, Marriage, and Care classes).
  • Help people get connected through Starting Point, Newcomer's Lunch, Rooted and Community Groups.
  • Teach Starting Point as needed.
  • Recruit, encourage, support and train current and future Ministry and Group Leaders.
  • Serve as the primary liaison and logistical point of contact for campus-based Bible Study Fellowship groups.
  • Provide pre-marital counseling, officiate weddings, and funerals when needed.
  • Be a part of the 'Pastor on Call' schedule for care needs.
  • Participate on the Women's and Men's Ministry central teams to help facilitate seasonal based curriculum and large annual conferences.
  • Organize campus wide events with the assistance of the campus team. Events include Mother's Day, Father's Day, Easter, Fall Fest, Fall Kick-Off / Connect Weekend, Christmas etc.
  • Manage and appropriately implement ministries such as Divorce Care, Grief Share, Financial Peace, Celebrate Recovery, One-To-One Ministry, etc. when necessary or applicable.
  • Be main point of contact for Men's Ministry Leadership team. Help with marketing plan/timeline for upcoming men's events.
  • Participate in Compass weekly staff meeting rhythms: weekend celebration and evaluation meeting, service run-through, monthly all staff meeting, monthly campus connection meeting, and monthly leadership training.
  • Innovate new opportunities for community and spiritual formation at thecampus
  • Other tasks/assignments as needed and assigned.

Work Schedule:

  • 40 hours a week. Schedule TBD by campus.
  • Education:Bachelor's degree in theology, pastoral ministry, or an organizational leadership related field is preferred.
  • Experience: 3or more years of vocational pastoral or ministry experience, specifically in discipleship, small groups, or pastoral care.
  • Ordained or pursuing ordination/licensing.
  • Proven ability to recruit, train, and empower volunteer leaders and ministry coaches
  • Deep emotional intelligence, active listening, and conflict resolution capabilities
  • Proven capability to build systems that guide newcomers from attending to belonging
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and digital proficiency (social media, church management software, etc.)
  • Good computer skills. Able to use Excel and learn new applications for reporting, accounting and database management.
  • Must be leader-minded and organized.
  • Must have a servant's heart for ministry, serving with positive attitude and spirit.
  • Be of moral and spiritual integrity in all areas of your walk and life.
