Job description

Job Title: Asbestos Supervisor

Location: Oregon and Washington

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Asbestos Supervisor to oversee and manage asbestos abatement projects in compliance with state and federal regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, a deep understanding of asbestos regulations, and extensive experience in supervising asbestos removal teams. As an Asbestos Supervisor, you will ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant removal of asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) from residential, commercial, and industrial sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead a team of asbestos workers in the safe removal of asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) from construction sites and facilities.

  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and Oregon/Washington state asbestos regulations and safety standards.

  • Conduct daily site inspections to ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols.

  • Oversee the setup, operation, and maintenance of containment areas, negative air pressure systems, and decontamination units.

  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget.

  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure project specifications and safety requirements are met.

  • Prepare and maintain required documentation, including work plans, progress reports, air monitoring reports, and waste disposal records.

  • Conduct safety briefings, tool-box talks, and training sessions for asbestos workers.

  • Monitor air quality and conduct periodic asbestos clearance testing to ensure a safe work environment.

  • Respond to and resolve any issues or emergencies that arise during abatement work.

  • Maintain knowledge of local and state asbestos regulations, industry best practices, and new technologies related to asbestos removal.

Qualifications:

  • Asbestos Supervisor certification issued by the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) and Southwest Clean Air Agency(SWCAA)/Washington State Department of Labor and Industries (LNI) or equivalent.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in asbestos abatement, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.

  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and Oregon DEQ asbestos regulations and Southwest Clean Air Agency(SWCAA)/Washington State Department of Labor and Industries (LNI).

  • Strong leadership skills and experience managing a team of workers.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to assess risk and implement corrective actions to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments and handle hazardous materials safely.

  • Valid driverโ€™s license and reliable transportation.

  • Ability to use online resources for daily tasks being daily emails, job nimbus, adp timecards.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in various weather conditions.
