Job Duties
This full-time, in-person position includes the responsibilities of teaching all levels of Arabic (3-3), scholarship, professional citizenship activities, and mentoring students.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum requirements include a Ph.D. in Arabic, Arabic Studies, or a related field. Ph.D. must be in hand by the start of the appointment, and a native or near-native fluency in Arabic (MSA + a dialect) and English. Specialization is open but preference will be given to Arabic pedagogy, Arabic linguistics, and Arabic literature.
Additional Considerations
This is a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor with a start date of 1 August 2027. We are seeking an enthusiastic, innovative teacher-scholar, who embraces the integrated approach of Arabic pedagogy, to join our departmental focus of developing linguistically proficient and culturally competent learners. Willingness to participate in summer study abroad programs with students is a plus.
*Salary commensurate with experience for the assistant professor position in Arabic.
