Job description

Position Title: Supportive Services Specialist - South Side Village

Location: South Side Village, Cape Girardeau, MO
Reports To: Housing Program Director
Work Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours per week
Compensation: $36,000-$40,000 annually, based on experience

Position Overview

The Supportive Services Specialist at South Side Village provides direct case management, advocacy, and support to residents to help them achieve housing stability, personal growth, and long-term independence. This position serves as a vital link between residents and community resources, ensuring that each individual has access to the tools, services, and support necessary to thrive.

The Supportive Services Specialist works collaboratively with other CPSEMO housing and supportive programs to promote a safe, stable, and empowering environment for residents at South Side Village.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized case management and support services to residents at South Side Village.
  • Conduct intake assessments, develop service plans, and maintain accurate documentation within the case management system.
  • Connect residents with community resources including employment, education, transportation, childcare, and health services.
  • Facilitate workshops, group meetings, and skill-building sessions on topics such as budgeting, tenant responsibilities, and self-sufficiency.
  • Support residents in crisis situations and assist with referrals for emergency resources when needed.
  • Monitor resident progress toward goals and update service plans accordingly.
  • Work closely with CPSEMO's housing, workforce, and community development teams to coordinate wraparound support.
  • Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and compliance with all agency policies and procedures.
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and community events as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Housing.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in case management, housing services, or human services preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain organized case files.
    • Knowledge of community resources, social services, and housing programs.
    • Cultural competence and sensitivity to diverse populations.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management databases (Apricot experience a plus).
