Job description

LSSI is hiring a full-time Maintenance Technician, Monday through Friday. Responsible for maintaining all facets of physical plant and grounds in accordance with health and safety requirements at designated facilities. This position has On-Call duties and will be a split site position at Victorian Woods and Taylorville in Rolling Meadows.

Essential Functions:
  • Perform routine maintenance, janitorial duties, and repair of buildings and grounds.
  • Report needs for major repairs.
  • Follow standards regarding safety, licensing, regulatory and agency requirements.
  • Implement and manage preventive maintenance program.
  • Assist in resident apartment or room turnover preparations.
  • Perform on-call service, as scheduled, and respond promptly to emergencies.
  • Mileage reimbursement available and driving time is part of hours worked when on call.
  • Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and carry out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations and/or individual in a dignified, respectful, honest, and fair manner
  • Document work orders and complete other reporting functions in compliance with LSSI and/or funding source requirements.

Position Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent maintenance experience.
  • Trade or technical school training preferred.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years maintenance experience preferred.
  • Basic electrical, plumbing, ground maintenance and snow removal experience preferred
  • HUD, OSHA, REAC, and ECT or related training preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, verbally and written.
  • Good organization and computer/tablet skills, including experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel) along with other related software.
  • Background check clearance required.
  • Valid driver's license, in good standing for the state of residency REQUIRED.
  • Access to reliable transportation required.
  • Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage, bodily injury, and property damage required.
