Job description

Centurion is proud to be a leading provider of comprehensive healthcare services to correctional facilities, state hospitals, and community mental health centers nationwide.
We are currently seeking a full-time Electronic Health Records (EHR) Specialist to join our team in Springfield, Illinois.
Salary $82,000.
The EHR (Electronic Health Record) Specialist is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and supporting the organization's electronic health record system. This role works closely with clinical, administrative, and IT teams to ensure the EHR is optimized for accurate documentation, compliance, and efficient workflow. The EHR Specialist serves as a subject matter expert, trainer, and problem-solver to support end users and ensure system functionality meets organizational needs.
  • Support the setup, configuration, and customization of the EHR system
  • Monitor system performance and coordinate with IT to resolve technical issues
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements
  • Assist with upgrades, patches, and new feature rollouts
  • Provide help desk support for EHR-related issues, including troubleshooting and escalation
  • Develop and deliver training materials, manuals, and sessions for new and existing users
  • Conduct workflow assessments to identify areas for process improvement
  • Serve as a resource for best practices in documentation and EHR use
  • Ensure accuracy, integrity, and security of health records
  • Create and run reports to support clinical and operational needs
  • Assist in data migration, audits, and quality assurance checks

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, IT, or related field (preferred)

  • Strong knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare compliance regulations
  • Experience with Fusion is required
  • Excellent communication, training, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
