Job Description Summary:

Are you ready to start a hands-on career building the networks that keep communities connected? As an Aerial Lineman I - Telecom, you'll work with a crew to install, maintain, and repair aerial fiber optic and coaxial lines. This entry-level role focuses on learning and supporting core construction tasks while growing into a skilled telecommunications professional.

Job Description:

What You'll Do
  • Assist with the installation and maintenance of aerial fiber optic and coaxial cables.

  • Support tasks such as cable lashing, strand placement, and installing pole hardware.

  • Learn and assist with basic fiber splicing and troubleshooting under supervision.

  • Safely use ladders, climbing gear, or bucket trucks to work at heights up to 25-30 feet.

  • Read and follow work orders, maps, and construction prints.

  • Follow all safety procedures, including PPE, traffic control, and fall protection requirements.

  • Participate in training and mentorship to develop technical skills and industry knowledge.

  • Participate in an on-call rotation schedule, responding to after-hours service needs or emergency repairs as required.

What You'll Bring
  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record (CDL preferred).

  • 1-2 years of experience in telecom, broadband, or construction preferred.

  • Ability to pass a DOT physical and maintain a valid medical card.

  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools effectively.

  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions, travel to project sites as needed, and perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting up to 75 lbs and working at heights.

Preferred Qualifications
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification, First Aid/CPR.

  • Fiber/cable construction training certification.

  • Experience with GIS field tools or digital job tracking systems.
