JOB SUMMARY
The Associate Account Manager works on a team across North Risk Partners to support the Commercial Lines service team and Risk Advisors. This role works under the supervision and direction of the account management team and service leader, with support from North Risk University training leads. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day service requests, supporting client relationships, and completing internal service work that prepares this individual to progressively take on greater responsibility and grow into an Account Manager role. Proficiency and ability to complete each phase independently and accurately is expected before moving into the next phase.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES
Phase 1:
  • Monitor and process tasks in the North Risk Commercial Lines buddy list
  • Assist the account management team by delivering quick and accurate responses to service requests in a caring and friendly manner
  • Accept, process, and communicate standard tasks such as, but not limited to, certificates, endorsements, policy changes, motor vehicle reports, audits, cancellations, and reinstatements
  • Receive new policies, prepare policy books for account managers to review, and deliver to Risk Advisors as instructed
  • Attend and participate in agency service training meetings and scheduled coverage training classes
  • Develop positive relationships with partner insurance carriers
  • Enter client activity and other relevant information into the company's software system(s)
  • Follow all federal and state regulations, and best practices for avoiding errors and omissions

Phase 2:
  • Receive, process, and manage incoming requests delegated by account managers, Risk Advisors, and insureds
  • Accept, process, and communicate more complex tasks such as certificates, elevated endorsements, evidence of insurance, policy changes, basic proposal building, audits, cancellations, and reinstatements
  • Review certificate contracts and communicate with carriers and account managers regarding necessary policy updates needed to execute certificates
  • Support processing tasks in the Commercial Lines Buddy List and other internal service workflows
  • Evaluate and process client requests to help ensure appropriate coverage needs are addressed under supervision
  • Resolve routine service inquiries related to billing, claims, and policy service needs to support client satisfaction
  • Continue active participation in agency service training meetings and ongoing professional development
  • Maintain accurate documentation in company systems and follow established procedures

Phase 3:
  • Maintain strong client relationships by responding to correspondence in a timely, accurate, and professional manner with support from the Risk Advisor and account management team
  • Co-manage a book of business with experienced team members while helping determine and meet client goals
  • Assist with client-facing service needs, including answering questions regarding lines of coverage, carrier changes, claims, billing, and renewal activity
  • Analyze carrier quotes for accuracy and prepare quote comparisons to support client recommendations and internal decision-making
  • Prepare renewal comparisons, policy proposals, and presentation materials that support the account management and sales process
  • Support remarketing efforts by gathering underwriting information, coordinating with carrier partners, and assisting in the development of insurance solutions for current clients
  • Communicate and educate clients on coverage, policy options, and service considerations as needed

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)
  • A combination of education and experience generally attained through a high school degree, Bachelor's degree, and work experience in insurance or another service industry
  • Ability to obtain & maintain a property & casualty license
  • Demonstrated customer service experience with the ability to build trust and respond professionally
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks effectively while paying close attention to detail
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team both in-person and virtually

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Perform under normal office conditions; may include lifting/carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Twist, bend, stoop, kneel, squat, stand, walk, and reach frequently
  • Hear, speak, and effectively verbally communicate in the English language, including following oral and written instructions to communicate with people inside and outside of the organization
  • Sit and a desk for extended periods of time and perform long hours of work sitting at a computer
  • Move around office/building/facilities repeatedly throughout the day
  • Apply manual dexterity, visual acuity and ability, for computer keyboarding, office equipment uses, review of detailed reports, information, fine print, and warning labels
  • Must possess valid driver's license and be able to travel to different North Risk Partners locations for meetings, as well as various locations throughout the state and potentially the region for client meetings
  • Able to work a flexible work schedule, including overtime, nights, and weekends to attend events and meetings as needed

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
Incumbents must be able to use telephones, calculators, copy machines, computers, printers, and other office equipment.

The work environment is primarily indoors. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The estimated range for this full-time position is $23.08 - $25.48 hourly, plus benefits. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The hiring range represents the company's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
