Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) assists the Director of Nursing in leading the nursing department to provide high-quality, patient-centered care. This role supports daily nursing operations, ensures regulatory compliance, and oversees infection control practices within the facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Director of Nursing in overseeing and leading the nursing department

  • Organize and direct day-to-day nursing operations in compliance with local and state regulations

  • Ensure the highest quality of resident-centered care

  • Plan, organize, and implement training programs and clinical in-services for nursing staff

  • Support compliance initiatives and maintain effective communication across all levels of nursing staff

  • Ensure adequate and appropriate staffing to meet resident care needs, including participation in recruitment efforts

  • Oversee competency evaluations and corrective action plans as needed

Requirements
  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New Jersey

  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible nursing experience in a clinical setting (preferred)

  • Three (3) years of supervisory experience in a long-term care or sub-acute setting (preferred)

  • PCC certification (preferred)
