Job Summary:
Southwest Healthcare is seeking a Full-Time Accountant who will be responsible for analyzes current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses for multiple facilities across the Region. The Regional Accountant prepares balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports. Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. Maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/TRAINING/ EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University in related field required.
  • Three years of experience in Accounting required. Healthcare Accounting experience, preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:
  • CPA or other professional certification preferred
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Demonstrates knowledge and ensures compliance with The Joint Commission and Title 22 standards and guidelines.
  • Demonstrates compliance with Healthcare policies and procedures at all times.
  • Ability to set priorities and appropriately organize workload and complete assignments in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrates ability to relate to clinical personnel and medical staff, as well as ability to interact well with the public.
  • Must have knowledge of PC and applications.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft products, such as Excel and Word.
  • Must have the ability to use good judgment and critical thinking skills in all situations.
  • Must be able to use the following: SMS, AS400, Computer, Calculator (10-Key Proficient), Fax Machine, LaserJet Printer, AS400 Printer, SMS Printer.
