Job description

A leading transportation and infrastructure consulting firm is hiring a Traffic Engineer to join its expanding King of Prussia-based team. This position offers the opportunity to work on forward-thinking transportation projects that prioritize multimodal access, safety, and smart mobility solutions for both urban and suburban environments. With a focus on progressive urban planning and transportation design, this firm is seeking a motivated professional who thrives in a collaborative, innovation-driven culture.
This is a full-time, direct hire role designed for an engineer who can manage projects end-to-end while contributing technical expertise in traffic studies, simulation modeling, and multimodal planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage project tasks including workload planning, quality control, budget development, and proposal generation.
- Prepare technical reports, traffic impact studies, and master planning documents.
- Design and analyze urban intersections, traffic signal systems, and multimodal infrastructure such as pedestrian and bicycle facilities.
- Conduct 2D and 3D simulation modeling using tools like Synchro and HCS.
- Participate in public meetings and presentations, clearly communicating technical findings to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary project teams to develop customized transportation solutions.
- Contribute to marketing efforts and client development initiatives across the transportation sector.
- Prepare construction documentation and oversee adherence to local, state, and federal guidelines.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
- 4-7 years of professional experience in traffic engineering and transportation planning.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.); PTOE certification is a plus.
Key Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience with traffic impact studies, roundabout analysis, multimodal corridor planning, and signal system design.
- Skilled in traffic simulation and modeling tools such as Synchro 9, HCS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Microsoft Excel.
- Previous project involvement with PennDOT, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, and/or the City of Philadelphia preferred.
- Proven ability to lead and manage projects, guide teams, and communicate technical details effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience in public presentations and stakeholder engagement.
- A proactive and adaptable approach to problem-solving with a focus on delivering high-quality engineering outcomes.
