Northrop Grumman Space Systems is currently seeking aProcess Engineer 3to support our Process Engineering team at ourPromontory, UtahPlant.

Role Description & Responsibilities:
Able to demonstrate and instill a strong safety culture in daily operations

Developing and continuously improving manufacturing processes

Supporting manufacturing operations, to include composites manufacturing, machining, rubber layup and molding, chemical bonding, primers and coatings, and complex assemblies

Being the first line of support (primary point of contact) for operations personnel and any process related problems.
Performing cause and corrective action investigations to permanently eliminate defects using root cause analysis tools
Working with concurrent engineering team to create Build-to-Packages (i.e. engineering and planning documents)
Authoring, updating and reviewing shop floor planning (work instructions)
Preparing and presenting technical presentations to internal leadership, and to the customers for review and approval
Performing reviews with operations team before and after parts are worked
Monitoring production events and utilizing SPC tools to ensure process control
Developing and incorporating process improvements
Troubleshooting production/tooling/facility issues and implementing improvements and solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
Supporting design, checkout, qualification and implementation of new or modified tooling or equipment

Skills & Qualifications
Self-Starter that takes initiative to complete tasks and assignments with little supervision
Good problem-solving skills and strong oral and written communication skills
Good organization and multi-tasking skills
Experience in Lean Manufacturing Techniques
Basic Computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Interpreting blueprints and specifications, GD&T standards
Experience writing shop planning (preferred)

Experience with 3D modeling software
Experience working with composite materials (preferred)
Strong inter-personal and Customer Service Skills

CAD skills preferred
Statistical Process Controls (SPC)

This position's standard work schedule is a 4x10. The 4x10 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday.

Basic Qualifications

B.S. degree in STEM- Mechanical, Chemical, or Aerospace Engineering or related engineering degree with 2 years' experience with Bachelor's degree or Master's degree with 0 years of experience.

Experience writing shop planning (preferred)

Experience with 3D modeling software
Experience working with composite materials (preferred)
Strong inter-personal and Customer Service Skills

CAD skills preferred
Statistical Process Controls (SPC)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with NX and modeling

  • Strong inter-personal and Customer Service Skills

  • Experience with rigging, bridge and mobile cranes

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
