Job description

Overview
Corporate Tools is hiring an experienced UX Engineer for $115,000/year. You will be a traditional company employee. This is a remote position, but if you're near one of our local offices, you're welcome to come hangout with us in-office as well. Our main offices are in Post Falls, ID, and Spokane, WA; we also have satellite offices in Austin, TX, and Salt Lake City, UT. Are you the kind of person who dreams in pixels and writes code that feels like magic? We're on the hunt for a UX Engineer who's part designer, part developer, and 100% passionate about creating seamless user experiences that make people say, "Wow, that just works!" We're searching for a passionate individual who can blend the art of design with the science of code. You'll be the bridge between our visionary designers and talented developers.
If you're the type of person who fell in love with design, but dreams about the code used to display it to users, you're our person!
Wage
$115,000 / year
Benefits
  • 100% employer-paid medical, dental and vision for employees
  • Annual review with raise option
  • 22 days Paid Time Off accrued annually, and 4 holidays
    • After 3 years, PTO increases to 29 days. Employees transition to flexible time off after 5 years with the company-not accrued, not capped, take time off when you want
    • The 4 holidays are: New Year's Day, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • Up to 6% company matching 401(k) with no vesting period
  • Quarterly allowance

  • Open concept office with friendly coworkers
  • Creative environment where you can make a difference
  • No dumb benefits like free dog walking on the weekends that snobby hipster places have to make you feel cool, but mathematically won't cost the company much money because you won't use it
  • Trail Mix Bar - oh yeah

Responsibilities
  • Own the full UX slice - research real user pain, sketch flows, craft hi-fi Figma mocks, then ship the coded component in production.
  • Build & maintain Human Interface Principles (tokens, components, patterns) in Vue, ensuring consistency across product suites.
  • Write production-quality front-end code-HTML, modern CSS (Tailwind/SCSS), vanilla JS, and at least one SPA framework; pair closely with Rails/API engineers.
  • Break large UX epics into sprint-sized tasks, track quality, and mentor juniors: give crisp code and design reviews.
  • Champion accessibility, performance, and A/B experimentation: measure, learn, iterate.
  • Communicate early & often with PMs, EMs, and stakeholder: "be a good human," keep calm, and help raise the bar for craft and culture.

Requirements
  • 5 + years experience building web UIs
  • 3 + years experience being focused on UX research and/or UI design
  • Fluency in Figma, HTML, CSS, vanilla JS & one modern framework (Vue, React, or similar).
  • Solid grasp of responsive, accessible, component-driven front-end architecture.
  • Comfortable reading Rails view code & JSON APIs (deep Rails expertise nice-to-have, not required).
  • Proven record mentoring peers and driving feature delivery from concept to ship.
  • Growth mindset, respect for teammates, and a bias toward calm, quality work over frantic sprints.
  • Preferred: Experience with A/B tools, analytics pipelines, or UX testing frameworks.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with AWS front-end hosting or CI/CD (S3, CloudFront, ECS).
  • Preferred: Knowledge of TypeScript, GraphQL, or automated UI testing (Cypress/Playwright).
