About the team:
Our team builds and operates Walmart's core transportation platform that supports the global supply chain by connecting suppliers, carriers, and internal operations at massive scale. We develop cloud-native, full-stack solutions that manage the complete freight lifecycle—from planning and execution through tracking, settlement, and carrier experience—for both private fleet and third-party transportation.
We embrace AI native engineering and intelligent automation to accelerate software delivery and simplify complex logistics workflows. By combining deep technical expertise with a product mindset, we build resilient, scalable platforms that improve transportation efficiency, reduce operating costs, and enable Walmart's omnichannel growth through continuous innovation.
What you'll do:
  • Design, build, and operate scalable cloud-native applications powering Walmart's transportation platform.
  • Serve as a hands-on technical leader by writing production code and driving architectural decisions.
  • Contribute across the full technology stack, with approximately 60% backend and 40% frontend responsibilities.
  • Build distributed systems, APIs, event-driven services, and modern user experiences.

  • Extensive experience building cloud-native distributed systems using Java and modern backend frameworks.
  • Strong full stack engineering experience with modern frontend technologies and backend services.
  • Proven expertise designing scalable APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
  • Deep understanding of software architecture, design patterns, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and DevOps.
  • Experience leveraging AI-assisted and agentic development tools to improve engineering productivity.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership through architecture ownership, mentorship, and engineering influence.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with product, engineering, and business partners.
