CGI is seeking a AWS Java Full Stack Developer with Python to support the development, modernization, and ongoing enhancement of enterprise applications within a large scale financial services environment.
This is a hands on development role for an experienced engineer with a strong background in Java and/or Python, AWS, REST APIs, and application modernization. The engineer will develop and enhance applications, support platform upgrades and migrations, troubleshoot cloud deployments, and help maintain secure, reliable production systems.

This role is located at a client site in either Lafayette, LA, Birmingham, AL, Columbia, SC or Knoxville, TN. A hybrid working model is acceptable.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
CGI is seeking an AWS Java Full Stack Developer with Python to support the development, modernization, and ongoing enhancement of enterprise applications within a large-scale financial services environment.
This is a hands-on development role for an experienced engineer with a strong background in Java and/or Python, AWS, REST APIs, and application modernization. The engineer will develop and enhance applications, support platform upgrades and migrations, troubleshoot cloud deployments, and help maintain secure, reliable production systems.
The role works closely with developers, QA, DevOps, product teams, and other technology partners in an Agile environment. Candidates should be comfortable working independently, troubleshooting complex application and AWS issues, and contributing to applications that operate in a highly regulated enterprise environment
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
. 5+ years of hands-on software development experience using Java and/or Python
. 5+ years of experience supporting application or platform upgrades, migrations, and modernization efforts
. 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS, including services such as EC2, ECS, RDS, ALB, SSM, SQS, SNS, and Lambda
. 3+ years of experience developing REST APIs, preferably using Spring/Spring Boot
. Experience troubleshooting AWS deployments, application configurations, security policies, and application/cloud logs
. Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Cucumber or Karate
. Strong understanding of software development practices, application patterns, and maintainable code
. Experience with Git, Jenkins, Jira, IntelliJ, Tomcat/J2EE, or comparable development and CI/CD tools
. Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL
. Familiarity with unit testing, code coverage, CI/CD and deployment processes, vulnerability remediation, and application monitoring
. Experience working within Agile/Scrum teams, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, stand ups, and retrospectives
. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
. Ability to communicate technical information clearly and collaborate with cross functional teams
. Ability to manage priorities and deliver work independently in a fast-paced enterprise environment
