Job Description:
Purpose of Job: Improve the overall health of the communities we serve by designing, building, and maintaining solutions that advance the quality, efficiency, and accessibility of care as follows:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Designs, develops, and implements full stack solutions to meet evolving business needs.
  • Integrates AI/ML models and services into applications, partnering with AI/ML engineering on model behavior, deployment, and testing.
  • Works with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translates them into technical specifications.
  • Applies internal and industry development best practices across the full application stack, including testing and maintainability standards; performs peer reviews and contributes to technical documentation.
  • Applies modern development tools, including AI-assisted technologies, across the development lifecycle to improve delivery speed and solution quality.
  • Applies secure development practices and PHI/data privacy standards independently across the full application stack; identifies and remediates common security vulnerabilities.
  • Works on multiple deadline-driven projects, meeting service level agreements and ensuring technical and business requirements are met.
  • Diagnoses and resolves complex production issues; participates in incident response and contributes to root cause analysis.
  • Participates in user acceptance testing and contributes to the preparation of training materials to support organizational adoption of new solutions.
  • Communicates effectively with stakeholders, explaining technical concepts in plain language for non-technical staff.
  • Mentors team members through pairing, feedback, and technical guidance
  • Performs other duties assigned, including supporting the CHAS Health Mission and Core Values.

Qualifications:
Education/Experience: Five years of professional software development with track record of delivering production systems end-to-end required. Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering, or related field preferred.
Skills: Advanced proficiency in multiple programming languages. Deep experience with cloud platforms. Strong understanding of API design, database optimization, and system architecture. Experience with containerization and CI/CD pipelines. Working knowledge of secure coding practices and common application security vulnerabilities; demonstrated understanding of HIPAA/PHI handling requirements as applied to software development. Above average technical skills, problem-solving skills, verbal and written communication skills are essential. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills required. Valid driver's license and insurance required. Commitment to supporting a safe and respectful environment required.
Physical Demands:
Must talk, hear, and sit more than two-thirds of the day. Using hands occurs over two-thirds of the day, while reaching with arms occurs less than one-third of the day. Communicating is required over two-thirds of the day, while climbing, stooping, or crawling is minimal. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
