Job Summary
The Senior Front End Designer operates as an independent contributor with strong conceptual and practical knowledge in UI/UX design and front-end development. This role solves complex problems, works with minimal guidance, and may lead project steps or moderately complex initiatives. The designer applies in-depth practical knowledge to deliver high quality, responsive digital solutions across internal and customer facing platforms. The role collaborates cross-functionally to ensure solutions align with broader business objectives and key drivers.
Responsibilities and Tasks
  • Design & User Experience:
    • Execute advanced UI/UX design tasks, including creation of wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and information architecture that simplify and clarify digital experiences.
    • Produce high fidelity designs using Figma and other design tools, ensuring consistency with established brand and design system standards.
    • Contribute to the maintenance and evolution of design system components; may lead specific component updates or enhancements.
  • Front End Development:
    • Translate approved designs into production ready HTML, CSS/SCSS, and JavaScript with responsive and accessible behavior.
    • Implement page structures, components, and interactions for microsites, landing pages, intranet pages, and digital campaign assets.
    • Ensure cross browser compatibility and alignment with company web standards.
  • User Testing & Optimization:
    • Conduct usability testing, heatmap reviews, and other UX assessments; summarize findings and recommend improvements.
    • Analyze site performance metrics and recommend enhancements using a broader business perspective to optimize load time, responsiveness, and user engagement.
  • Cross Functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with stakeholders, IT partners, and subject matter experts to gather requirements, clarify expectations, and refine deliverables.
    • Implement tagging, tracking, and measurement configurations as directed to support analytics objectives.
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay current on emerging UI/UX trends, tools, and front end development best practices; recommend new approaches to enhance digital experiences.
    • Completes additional initiatives/projects in support of the business as needed/assigned.
  • Project Leadership:
    • May lead tasks or workstreams within broader marketing or digital initiatives.
    • May provide guidance to less experienced designers or developers when needed
  • Business Relationships:
    • Works with cross-functional partners across the organization as needed
    • Part of the Strategic Marketing Function, reporting directly to the Sr. Manager of Strategic Marketing

Knowledge (Education/License/Certification, Prior Experience)
  • Accredited four (4) year Bachelor's Degree in relevant field
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in UI/UX design, front-end development, digital media, or web experience creation.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma experience and prototyping tools.
  • Proficient with front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, JavaScript, responsive frameworks, and component-based design.
  • Familiarity with CMS platforms such as WordPress or HubSpot.
  • Microsoft Office software suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Visio, etc.)

Skills and Abilities
  • Strong capabilities in UI/UX design, prototyping, and interaction design.
  • Advanced proficiency in modern front-end development languages and tools.
  • Solid understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG / Section 508) and inclusive design principles.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; able to explain design decisions.

Travel/Physical Requirements
  • May need to move and set up materials, typically 40 lbs. or less.
  • May require travel (up to 10%)
