Job description

Position Summary... What you'll do...At Walmart, we're building the next generation of commerce by expanding how customers shop and receive products through new fulfillment models, strategic partnerships, and emerging businesses. The Walmart Restaurants team within Fulfillment Innovations is responsible for ensuring these businesses deliver exceptional customer experiences while operating efficiently, reliably, and at scale. As a Staff, Tech Ops, you will serve as an operational leader responsible for driving business performance across emerging commerce initiatives. You will partner across Product, Engineering, Last Mile Delivery, Support, eCommerce, and Operations teams to improve service quality, optimize operational performance, and enable sustainable business growth. This role combines strategic thinking with operational execution, requiring strong business acumen, analytical problem-solving, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams in a highly matrixed environment.
  The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity, quickly identifies opportunities for improvement, and drives initiatives from concept through execution to deliver measurable business impact.
  What You'll Do
  • Own operational performance across emerging commerce businesses by monitoring key service, quality, and cost metrics and driving initiatives that improve customer and business outcomes.
  • Lead cross-functional efforts to identify, prioritize, and resolve operational challenges through data-driven root cause analysis and structured problem solving.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Last Mile Delivery, Support, and business stakeholders to develop scalable operational solutions that improve reliability, efficiency, and customer experience.
  • Develop operational strategies, governance mechanisms, and performance reviews that enable informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Lead operational readiness and launch activities for new capabilities, partners, and business initiatives, ensuring successful implementation and ongoing performance.
  • Translate operational insights into business requirements, influencing product roadmaps and process improvements that support long-term scalability.
  • Build executive-ready business reviews, performance reporting, and recommendations that clearly communicate operational health, risks, and opportunities.
  • Evaluate emerging business opportunities, operational capabilities, and industry trends to inform future operating models and strategic priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in business operations, operations management, strategy, consulting, supply chain, eCommerce, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate operational data into actionable business decisions.
  • Experience driving operational performance, continuous improvement, or process optimization across customer-facing businesses.
  • Proven ability to influence without direct authority and build alignment across stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and executive presentation skills, with the ability to synthesize complex topics into clear recommendations.
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments where priorities evolve as the business scales.
