What You Will Do: 

This is an entry-level, training-focused position that supports Distribution Dispatchers (DD) and Distribution System Operators (DSO) in monitoring and maintaining the reliability of Trico's electrical system. Through hands-on learning, the intern assists with system monitoring using OMS, SCADA, and CIS, supports outage response and restoration activities, and contributes to system switching coordination and event logging. This role provides exposure to utility operations, data analysis, and system reporting while introducing the use of AI and digital tools to enhance situational awareness, improve data accuracy, and support decision-making. As a learning opportunity, the position builds foundational knowledge of electric system operations, emerging technologies, and real-time system management while providing overall support to the System Operations team.

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or GED required; currently pursuing or recently completed coursework in Electrical Technology, Engineering, GIS, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
  2. Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, especially Excel).
  3. Ability to learn technical systems and software in a fast-paced environment.
  4. Strong communication skills with the ability to follow instructions and ask questions.
