The Material Handler plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient movement of materials throughout warehouse and operational facilities. This position is responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, transporting, and inventorying materials while maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting customer and operational needs. Material Handlers operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment while adhering to established safety standards, conducting equipment inspections, identifying and reporting hazards, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Through a strong commitment to safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence, Material Handlers help ensure materials are available where and when needed to support reliable business operations.

Responsibilities
  • Receives, stores, issues material, tools, equipment and supplies
  • Unloads, unpacks, identifies, inspects, and verifies shipments received
  • Marks or tags items with material codes; loads, transports and stores items in racks, bins, drawers, stacks and storage areas
  • Locates and picks stock to fill orders
  • Packages, labels and stages orders for pickup or shipment or issues items from stock
  • Transcribes information and completes forms and/or operates computer terminal required to receive, transfer, store, retrieve and issue stock or issue and retrive tools and equipment
  • Performs monitoring and maintenance of stored material
  • Operates or guides operation of motorized and other material handling equipment
  • Loads, unloads and drives light duty truck to pick up or deliver stock
  • Assists with taking inventories and in training and checking work of others
  • Uses common hand and power tools to uncrate or crate shipments and to service or maintain warehouse equipment
  • Maintains warehouse stock and areas in a clean and order condition
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Five years of experience in warehouse, logistics or material handling operations\u00a0
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment
  • Posses a valid Class C drivers license
  • Ability to operate light-duty trucks

  • Experience with inventory control, shipping and receiving processes
  • Experience with utility or industrial operations\u00a0
  • Strong customer service experience supporting both internal and external stakeholders
