Tunista. is currently recruiting for a full-time (40 hours per week) Fuels Distribution System Operator (FDSO)/ Dispatcher/Computer Operator (DCO) at our Gila Bend Air Force Auxiliary Field location. This position may work up to 40 hours a week and some evenings and weekends.

Duties/Responsibilities

Personnel shall have knowledge of fuels management; quality control procedures; receipt, storage, and issue of petroleum products, liquid propellants, gases, and oxidizers, as well as documentation; and all pertinent safety and environmental precautions.

Summary of essential job functions

  • FDSO Responsible for dispensing aviation and ground fuel as directed by resource control center position will share responsibility as a DCO.
  • Refuels and defuels transient aircraft, and organizational support fuel tanks.
  • Operates 5,000- and 1,000-gallon refueling fuel servicing vehicles.
  • Complies with all technical and safety procedures related to fuel handling operations.
  • Accomplishes applicable forms to accurately document fuel products received and dispensed, closes out paperwork (night shift).
  • Monitors fueling equipment for abnormal conditions during servicing operations. Documents discrepancies on applicable inspection forms.
  • Reports discrepancies to preventive maintenance supervisor.
  • Assists with vehicle checkpoint operations and performs first echelon preventive maintenance.
  • Performs daily corrosion control on refueling fleet.
  • Helps obtain and tests fuel samples IAW 42B-1-1.
  • Assists in training newly assigned personnel.
  • Ensures compliance with environmental, occupational safety, and security programs.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have two years prior experience in a fuels aviation field.
  • Employee must be able to work for extended periods of time in the local outdoor environment.
  • Employee must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.

Preferred Requirements:

The applicant should have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, co-workers, and customers.

Other Essential Requirements:

  • The applicant must have the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • This individual must have the ability to read and interpret general and governmental instructions/regulations.
  • The applicant must have a valid Arizona Driver's License.
  • Be a United States citizen able to possess and maintain a current and valid class B driver's license for job locality, with HAZMAT and tanker endorsements.
  • Must possess and maintain Secret Security Clearance.
  • This applicant must be able to pass a background investigation and a pre-employment drug test.
