The FSU Panama City Undergraduate Studies program: Undergraduate Programs | FSU Panama City
Florida State University is one of the nation's top public universities, and FSU Panama City amplifies the university's efforts to preserve, expand, and disseminate knowledge in the sciences, technology, arts, humanities, and human services professions. FSU Panama City is located 100 miles west of Tallahassee on the beautiful North St. Andrews Bay and is only three miles from the beaches of the Emerald Coast. FSU PC currently houses 20 bachelor's programs, 9 master's programs, and 1 doctoral program, and boasts a small faculty-to-student ratio, which gives students a more personalized academic experience. Responsibilities
The position is a full-time teaching faculty position with an emphasis on undergraduate instruction in Physics.
  • Develop and teach face-to-face courses in Physics as part of the FSU PC undergraduate studies program, which fulfills per-requisite courses for several majors on campus (e.g., Biomedical Sciences, Engineering) - examples of courses include general physics, calculus-based physics, and intermediate modern physics.
  • Work with colleagues on campus and in the Physics Department in Tallahassee to support students and ensure continuity of academics.
  • Provide high-quality instruction and services to the undergraduate studies program
  • Be an engaged faculty member with a focus on student success.
  • Opportunities are available to engage in research and work with students on their research, though not specifically required for this teaching faculty position.

Qualifications
  • PhD in Physics from an accredited institution with at least 2 years of teaching experience at the university level.
  • Individuals completing their doctorate in Physics with all but dissertation (ABD) status will be considered, and individuals with a Master's in Physics with a related doctoral degree will also be considered.

Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated excellence in university teaching, excellent communication skills, and a passion for student success.
