About Us

Ambrosia Foods is a growing Chicago catering company serving corporate clients and private events across the city. We run a fast, high-volume kitchen where strong work ethic & attention to details are the most important factors. We're looking for a strong, efficient cook who takes pride in clean work, moves with urgency, and wants to grow, both personally & professionally, with the fastest growing catering company in the city.

What You'll Do
  • Execute high-volume prep and batch cooking across a rotating event menu
  • Work all stations as needed — hot line, cold prep, garde manger, plating and packing for off-site events
  • Follow prep lists and recipes with consistency and speed; flag shortages or issues early
  • Maintain portioning and yield standards to keep food cost on target
  • Keep your station organized and hold to strict sanitation and food safety practices
  • Assist with receiving, labeling, rotation (FIFO), and inventory counts
  • Support event load-outs and occasionally work on-site at events
  • Communicate clearly with the head chef and prep team in a fast-moving environment
What We're Looking For
  • 4+ years of professional cooking experience — catering, banquet, or high-volume restaurant kitchens preferred
  • Strong knife skills and clean, efficient technique
  • Ability to execute multiple projects at once and hit deadlines without cutting corners
  • Comfort with changing menus
  • Reliability & Punctuality are a must.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and keep pace during peak production
  • City of Chicago / Illinois Food Handler certification (or willingness to obtain before start date)
  • Food Sanitation Manager certification a plus, but not required
What We Offer
  • $23–$25/hour depending on experience, with a clear path to more as we grow
  • Full-time, consistent hours
  • Semi-monthly pay (15th and end of month)
  • A kitchen that's busy, organized, and getting better every month
  • Real growth opportunity: we're scaling fast, and we promote from within
  • Opportunities for field chef work, with higher pay rates.
