Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES is an educational agency serving nine school districts in the New York State counties of Monroe and Orleans:
Brockport, Churchville-Chili, Gates Chili, Greece, Hilton, Holley, Kendall, Spencerport, and Wheatland-Chili.

PAY SCALE:  $20.00 - $25.00 per hour, based on experience
JOB DESCRIPTION:

 
Per Diem instruction for Literacy Program
Per Diem Daytime and Evenings 
 


TYPICAL DUTIES:

 
  1. Provide instruction for literacy program in High School Equivalency or English for Speaker of Other Languages (ESOL) classroom per substitute plans
  2. Manage the classroom procedures and policies to meet student and organizational needs.
  3. Collaborate with the staff in the classroom and organization as needed
  4. Report and document student attendance according to program guidelines.
  5. Come prepared with instructional activities if substitute plans are not available.
  6. Hours vary per assignment; classes are 3 hours long and take place in the morning, afternoon, and evening.
  7. Substitute Workshop Training required
  8. Maintains all safety standards as mandated by the BOCES 2 organization
  9. Other duties as determined by the Director of BOCES 2 CWD

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience:      1-3 years working in education or human services field required
                               Teaching experience preferred
Educational:    High School Diploma required
                                Bachelor degree in Education or related field preferred
                                Adult Education or K-12 Certification preferred
                                Teaching experience preferred
                                Experience working with adult students preferred
