Job description

Security Services-Contract Site Manager

Position Overview

Gateway Group One is seeking an experienced Contract Security Manager to oversee the NJ Transit security contract. This role is responsible for the overall management, performance, and compliance of a large, statewide security operation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership across administrative personnel, supervisory staff, and frontline security officers, while maintaining exceptional client relations and meeting all contractual, financial, and operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Operational & Staff Management

  • Oversee day-to-day security operations across NJ Transit client sites throughout New Jersey.
  • Manage and lead a diverse team including:
    • Administrative staff
    • Site and shift supervisors
    • Security officers
  • Direct all aspects of personnel management, including hiring, onboarding, scheduling, payroll coordination, training, coaching, mentoring, performance management, and employee retention.
  • Ensure all posts are fully staffed while minimizing overtime and unbilled hours.

Client & Contract Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client representatives.
  • Build, maintain, and strengthen effective client relationships.
  • Ensure full compliance with all contractual requirements, policies, and reporting standards.
  • Coordinate internal support services to meet or exceed operational, financial, and service-level goals.
  • Ensure complete customer satisfaction through responsiveness, transparency, and professionalism.

Training, Compliance & Quality Control

  • Coordinate and/or conduct site-specific, client-specific, and company-mandated training.
  • Ensure all security personnel meet Gateway and client training standards.
  • Develop, maintain, and update site-specific post orders and operational procedures.
  • Review security logs, patrol documentation, and incident reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate and support preliminary investigations when required.

Incident & Risk Management

  • Respond appropriately to escalated security issues, emergencies, and critical incidents.
  • Maintain 24/7 accountability for assigned account; availability via company-issued mobile phone is required.
  • Ensure prompt response to all emergency calls, texts, and client communications.

Administrative & Resource Oversight

  • Manage uniforms, equipment, office supplies, and vehicles assigned to the contract.
  • Maintain accurate inventories and ensure proper maintenance and replacement schedules.
  • Interface professionally with Corporate Executives and support departments.
  • Enforce company policies, procedures, and executive directives.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing large, multi-site security contracts (transportation or similar environments preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and retain administrative, supervisory, and frontline security staff.
  • Strong customer relationship management and client-facing experience.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while thriving in a team-oriented management environment.
  • Experience with scheduling and payroll processes preferred.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
