Senior Construction Technician Job ID: SRCON014136 Job Title: Senior Construction Technician Location: 303 S MAIN STREET, #305, MOUNT PLEASANT, MI 48858 Union: IBEW 1106 - CBA 032 Hiring Manager: Tanner Mege # of Openings: 1 Internal Posting Dates: 7/15/2026-7/22/26 Wage Range: $20.88 - $36.66 per hour Summary: Performs all types of cable repair, testing and technical analysis including acceptance testing, fiber optic construction and maintenance, transmission/noise isolation, operation of all types of heavy equipment, complex air pressurization problems and sealed plant repair. General Duties: Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: PERSONAL CONTACTS: Interdepartmental - Frequent Intradepartmental - Frequent Customer - Frequent Vendor - Frequent DRIVING: Driving required coupled with a clean driving background. TRAVEL RELATED: Required for job site reporting as necessary PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Job requires distinguishing wire and cable colors Required handling 50 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally Pushing, pulling, lifting, and bending Manual dexterity in the performance of tasks Working at heights Handling ladders Pole Climbing TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED: Backhoe, cable plow, megger, ohmmeter, pusher, 3M modular splicing unit, locator, DAVAR test equipment, line truck, semi-truck, trailers, CSU and/or aerial devices, various hand/power, splicing and testing tools, shovel and rake, transmission, noise and isolation equipment, attenuation test sets, OTDR, fusion splicing and mechanical fiber splicing tools

Basic Qualifications: Tests- Results obtained in standard tests for this position must meet minimum requirements established by the Company, in accordance with Company policy. Strong leadership skills Knowledge in all types of splicing activity, cable and safety test equipment and/or use of all types of cable construction equipment Knowledge in first aid and CPR Requires class "A" CDL driver's license Job requires climbing; 6) Knowledge in reading and understanding CAF (Customer Access Facility) work orders Basic AC/DC Theory Good safety record Job requires reading and writing English Job requires driving vehicle with manual gear shift Working aloft and in close spaces Strong work ethics, integrity and positive outlook.
