To thrive as a Frontend Software Engineer, you need strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frontend frameworks like React or Angular, typically supported by a degree in computer science or related experience. Familiarity with version control systems (such as Git), responsive design tools, and build tools like Webpack or npm is also important. These skills are crucial for building performant, maintainable, and visually appealing applications that meet user needs and business goals.

What are some common challenges faced by Frontend Software Engineers when working on cross-functional teams?

Frontend Software Engineers often collaborate closely with backend developers, designers, and product managers. A common challenge is ensuring effective communication and alignment, especially when translating design mockups into functional user interfaces or integrating with backend APIs. Balancing user experience goals with technical constraints and timelines can also be demanding. Proactively participating in sprint planning and code reviews helps foster collaboration and ensures smoother project delivery.

What does a Frontend Software Engineer do?

A Frontend Software Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing the user interface of websites and web applications. They work with technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, as well as frameworks such as React or Angular, to create interactive and visually appealing experiences for users. Job description

Build the Future of Intelligent Construction as a Software Engineer (AI Foundation)!
Ready to revolutionize the construction industry by moving beyond basic automation to production-ready AI? As a key member of our AI Foundation team, you will build the scalable, agent-enabled infrastructure that powers the next generation of cloud-based platforms for global contractors, ensuring every AI-driven insight is reliable, secure, and impactful at scale.
About Us:
Trimble is a global technology company that connects the physical and digital worlds, transforming the ways work gets done. With relentless innovation in precise positioning, modeling and data analytics, Trimble enables essential industries including construction, geospatial and transportation. Whether it's helping customers build and maintain infrastructure, design and construct buildings, optimize global supply chains or map the world, Trimble is at the forefront, driving productivity and progress.
AECO: The Trimble AECO segment provides digital construction solutions that increase precision and productivity for Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Operations.
What Makes This Role Great:
In this role, you will be at the heart of Trimble's fundamental shift toward AI-integrated workflows. You won't just be experimenting; you will be building the core technical infrastructure that transitions AI initiatives from the lab to production. By developing reusable frameworks and safety governance, you will directly influence how millions of users interact with intelligent, cloud-based construction technology.

  • Translate architectural designs into performant, scalable code, integrating Azure AI and OpenAI into global platforms.
  • Establish the "ground truth" infrastructure by implementing traceability and monitoring systems to ensure AI safety and ethical guardrails.
  • Create shared internal libraries and API wrappers that empower product teams across the division to adopt AI capabilities rapidly.
  • Drive engineering consistency through shared tools and documentation that promote industry best practices.
  • Design and ship agentic workflows using LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, and MCP-based tooling for complex, multi-step construction data tasks
  • Spearhead the development of agent-enabled systems capable of handling complex data tasks for large-scale construction operations.

Essential Skills & Experience
  • 3-5 years of production experience in C#/.NET, TypeScript, or Python
  • Proven expertise in Test-Driven Development (TDD) and solving complex technical problems independently.
  • Daily fluency with AI-powered development tools: VSCode, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, and AI coding assistants as part of your standard workflow

Tools & stack you'll work in
  • AI/agent: LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, MCP protocol, Azure AI Foundry, RAG pipelines, prompt engineering
  • Cloud/data: Azure (ACI, ACR, AKS), Databricks, Kafka, Unity Catalog, REST/OpenAPI
  • Dev tooling: VSCode, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, GitHub Actions, Docker, Azure DevOps
  • Frontend: React, Vite, TypeScript

Bonus Points For:
  • Experience working within a large-scale global organization.
