Position Summary

Biostate AI is seeking a part-time UI/UX and Illustration Design Intern with a background in art or design to develop the visual layer of our applications and software. The intern will create original illustrations and interface assets, contribute to UI/UX design, and use AI-assisted development tools to help implement designs in code. Prior programming experience is helpful but not required; training and support will be provided.


Responsibilities

  • Create illustrations, backgrounds, icons, and other art assets for our applications and software
  • Contribute to UI/UX design for new screens and features, from initial concept to finished visual
  • Implement and prototype designs using AI-assisted development tools (such as Cursor or Claude Code)
  • Deliver assets in developer-ready formats (SVG, PNG, and similar)


Qualifications

  • Current undergraduate student with a background in art or design
  • A portfolio of illustration or visual design work; academic, personal, and social media projects are welcome
  • Proficiency with tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or Procreate
  • Familiarity with HTML/CSS or front-end development, or a strong interest in learning through AI-assisted tools
  • Strong visual judgment and the ability to work independently from a general brief
  • Highly motivated and eager to take on impactful work in a fast-paced startup environment


Position Details

  • Fully remote; up to 20 hours per week, with scheduling flexibility around academic commitments
