Job description

Overview
We are seeking a full-time Creative Front End Developer at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for creating engaging and user-friendly digital experiences across Garmin's web, mobile, and application platforms. Working within established standards and in collaboration with creative, UX, and development teams, this position translates designs into responsive, interactive solutions while building expertise in front-end development, accessibility, and user experience best practices.
Essential Functions
  • Executes designs provided by UX/UI and Creative teams
  • Builds responsive pages and components
  • Responsible for learning Garmin's systems and standards
  • Performs testing and quality assurance on web accessible code and commands
  • Receives guidance and feedback from senior developers

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Interactive Design, Graphic Design, Computer Science, Human Computer Interaction, Web Development or related field AND a minimum of 2 years of relevant web development experience
  • Demonstrates skills in CSS3, HTML5, and JavaScript
  • Experience with cross-browser/cross-platform compatibility
  • Comfort with browser-based developer debugging tools such as Chrome DevTools
  • Experience writing web accessible (A11y) code that meets WCAG guidelines
  • Familiarity with command-line interfaces and terminal applications for executing development-related commands
  • Experience working with version control and Git repositories (e.g., Bitbucket)
  • Familiarity with code editing and development tools such as Visual Studio Code or Sublime Text
