Your role at Clorox:

Process Technician Job Purpose: Maintains production, safety and quality by ensuring operation of plant, machinery and mechanical equipment, back fills openings whether vacation, disability, or other losses to reduce or eliminate overtime.
12 hour shift, Rotational, 2-2-3 split

In this role, you will:

  • Operate the Process responsibly to ensure operational efficiency, safety, productivity and environmental compliance, includes but not limited to Loader Operations/Bark pile Management and Control room operations.
  • Backfills call offs, and other events as needed or directed by management to address staffing issues. Includes single day events such as call offs and sick time that are covered by the crew on duty and oncoming production crews
  • Supports a WCO Pillar Board as a team member, helps to plan and schedule activities during weekly meetings. Accomplishes tasks such as PM completion, Monthly Inspections, RIP reviews, T&Q Data Collection, etc.. And keeps the Board active and up to date with action plans and present Pillar Board at monthly meetings.
  • Maintains the ability to operate the Process, including daily rotation to the loader to stockpile and manage the raw material foot print, maintains feeding of raw material via front end loader to the plant to ensure process stability, and involves digging. Ramping and locating dry material to support stable operations. Loader operator also moves loaded char trailers.
  • Participates in Weekly Maintenance Meeting to develop, plan and complete the maintenance activities for the following week. This includes the tasks assigned Loader Operators for housekeeping and maintenance help during burnout and outages.
  • Performs and addresses plant and equipment cleaning which includes hosing the plant down, sweeping and shoveling as well as grounds keeping as needed.
  • Actively supports Journey Mapping Activities, supports HOP, WCO activities such as WPO, BDE, RIP reviews as well as Kaizen events.
  • Addresses Plant DT events on shift to bring plant back to operation, determines length and severity of each event, troubles shoots the root cause, determines if additional resources are needed and follows "call -in" procedure, conveys this information to Management and gains approval for additional resources that would be covered on OT.
  • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, (PM's or CILs) on conveyor systems, and production machines; following operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, O.E.M. specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions and process failures. Leverages SAP PM to create work requests and follow up orders to support historical plant maintenance data
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments and possess full understanding of the plant operating equipment and processes.

What we look for:

  • Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests as an equipment owner or subject matter expert to complete T&Q Training Documents, Operating Procedures, BDE's and Kaizens as required.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by staying current with Process Technician Qualification Requirements and is responsible to seek training for any known deficiencies.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by leveraging Shift exchange by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing information sharing among WV Ops to insure process stability.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with WPO procedures and rules. Required to perform normal plant clean up, including removal of debris, hosing down and general plant facility maintenance such as cleaning, painting and grounds keeping at minimum weekly interval or daily as needed.
  • Supports Site Security measures and ensures compliance
  • Update Production Tracking leveraging SAP BW and Daily Ops database for morning Meeting (3RD Shift)

Starting hourly rate: $31.04 an hour
