Job description

Description

Martin Marietta is currently looking for a Dredge and Plant Operator to be responsible for operating heavy equipment and maintenance of the plant. This position will perform routine maintenance and repairs, including cutting and welding, in a hydraulic dredging environment. Primary responsibility is to safely and efficiently perform maintenance or repairs on all plant and mobile equipment. Track maintenance and repair records. Use a skid steer, front end loader, manlift and clean around plant equipment and to maintain roadways and parking areas. Additionally participate in safety inspections and plant safety program.

Essential Functions 

Responsible for operating a variety of equipment utilized in dredge mining Perform daily inspection of equipment and work area Perform repairs and routine maintenance on plant and mobile equipment Maintain consistent and efficient operation of plant Inspect and lubricate equipment and plant operations Diagnose and assist in trouble-shooting when process is interrupted Test material to maintain specs, no DOT training necessary Perform preventative maintenance and pre-shift inspections as needed Perform all other duties as assigned

Minimum Education and Experience 

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience required
  • 1+ year related experience
  • Must have a valid US drivers license
  • Bi-lingual is a plus

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position that regularly requires long hours and weekend work.

Working conditions 

This job will require operating with larger equipment which is typically air conditioned. There will be times when outside assignments that may require periods of work in all weather conditions-heat, cold, wet or dry. May have exposure to dust, sand, gravel, diesel exhaust, etc.
