Job description

Job Title: Front-End Loader Operator - Concrete Batch Plant
Department: Concrete Operations
Reports To: Concrete Site Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Position Summary
The Front-End Loader Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a front-end loader to manage raw materials at the concrete batch plant. This position plays a critical role in maintaining consistent material flow for concrete production while supporting overall plant operations. The successful candidate must be dependable, safety-focused, and a strong team player who is willing to assist with a variety of plant-related duties as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate a front-end loader to load, unload, move, and stockpile aggregates and other materials used in concrete production
  • Maintain proper material levels in bins and hoppers to support uninterrupted batching operations
  • Perform routine daily equipment inspections and report mechanical, safety, or maintenance concerns promptly
  • Keep the plant yard, material areas, and traffic paths clean, organized, and safe
  • Assist with management of returned concrete and cleanup activities as directed
  • Follow all company safety rules, OSHA guidelines, and environmental regulations at all times
  • Communicate effectively with batch plant operators, truck drivers, supervisors, and other team members
  • Support general plant operations, housekeeping, and maintenance activities as needed
  • Assist other departments or plant personnel when required to support efficient facility operations
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required based on operational needs of the facility
Work Schedule and Availability
  • Ability to work irregular, extended, and weather-dependent hours typical of concrete production and delivery
  • Availability for early mornings, late evenings, overtime, weekends, and occasional long or split days
  • Work hours may change with little notice due to job demands, equipment issues, weather conditions, or peak delivery periods
  • Flexibility and reliability are essential to support the concrete delivery operation
Qualifications
  • Previous experience operating a front end loader in a construction materials, aggregate, mining, or ready mix concrete environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of safe equipment operation and material handling practices
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
